Role Information

Accessible Events are looking for friendly, committed and enthusiastic Access Team Volunteers to support accessible provision at major UK festivals and events, including Lytham Festival, Boardmasters, Truck Festival, Forwards Festival, Waterworks Festival, Gone Wild Festival, and Love Saves The Day.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in live events while helping ensure that d/Deaf, neurodivergent and disabled customers have an enjoyable and inclusive festival experience.

What Does the Accessibility Team Do?

The Accessibility Team works to remove barriers and provide practical support so that everyone can access and enjoy the event safely and comfortably.

As a volunteer, you will gain insight into how accessibility is delivered at large-scale music events and develop a basic understanding of the Attitude is Everything Charter of Best Practice — the recognised industry framework for accessible live music. Our partner festivals are working towards Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum awards.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your role may include:

  • Assisting with access accreditation at the box office.

  • Welcoming customers and answering questions about accessible facilities.

  • Supporting customers and their companions on viewing platforms.

  • Helping with set up and pack down of accessible areas.

  • Conducting site walkabouts to monitor accessibility provision.

  • Liaising with Security or other teams if required.

  • Assisting with signing RADAR keys in and out.

  • Supporting during show stops or emergencies under direction from management.

  • Helping ensure viewing platforms are cleared and reset at the end of the day.

  • Assisting with collection of padlocks and equipment at the end of the event.

  • Documenting accessibility provision where requested.

  • Most importantly — being a warm, approachable and friendly presence.

Tasks may vary depending on the event.

Who This Role Is For

This role is ideal for:

  • Anyone interested in working in the events industry.

  • Those passionate about accessibility and inclusion.

  • Individuals who enjoy working as part of a team.

  • People who are confident, flexible and willing to help where needed.

You’ll need to be reliable, positive and comfortable working in busy festival environments. Ability to travel to festival sites is required. A driving licence is advantageous but not essential.

What You’ll Receive

This is a voluntary role, meaning you will not be paid.

In exchange for completing your allocated shifts, you will receive:

  • A free festival ticket

  • Access to on-site facilities

  • Valuable live event experience

  • The opportunity to work within a supportive, inclusive team

Occasionally, paid roles may become available depending on the show. If you are interested in being considered for paid opportunities, you can indicate this on the application form.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

Accessible Events recognises the positive value of diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination.

We actively welcome and encourage applications from d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people from all backgrounds.
