ACCESSIBILITY ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION 2024

Accessible Events are looking for fun and enthusiastic Access Team Volunteers for several shows across the UK. These include Noisily, WOMAD, Lytham Festival, Boardmasters, Truck, Forwards Festival, Waterworks, Gone Wild, and Love Saves The Day.

WHAT DO THE ACCESSIBILITY TEAM DO?

The Accessibility Team is responsible for making sure that all d/Deaf, neurodivergent and disabled customers have an enjoyable experience whilst at the event.

Team members will get a unique insight into how accessibility is approached and dealt with at large-scale music events. It will allow individuals a basic understanding of the Attitude is Everything Charter of Best Practice, which is considered the standard structure for accessibility across the music industry. The above shows are working towards Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum awards.

To help us achieve this, we need committed, focused individuals who work well independently and as part of a team. The role incorporates a variety of tasks and the ability to be flexible with a smile. It is aimed at anyone interested in working in the events industry or those who would like to dedicate their time and skills in exchange for a ticket to a show.

This is a voluntary role, which means that you will not be paid, but you will get a free festival ticket plus the use of other facilities on-site in exchange for completing your shifts. If you are also interested in paid roles (these occasionally come up depending on the show), please tick the box at the end of the form to express your interest, and if you have a CV or anything else you would like to upload, please do).
