Accessibility Manager Job Information
Accessible Events are looking for experienced, proactive and passionate Accessibility Managers to lead our Access Teams across a range of major UK festivals and events, including Noisily Festival, Lytham Festival, Boardmasters, Truck Festival, Forwards Festival, Waterworks Festival, Gone Wild Festival, and Love Saves The Day.
This is a leadership role for individuals who are confident managing teams, problem-solving in live event environments, and championing best practice in accessibility across large-scale music events.
What Does the Accessibility Manager Do?
The Accessibility Manager leads the delivery of accessible services on-site, ensuring that all d/Deaf, neurodivergent and disabled customers have a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience.
You will oversee Accessibility Assistants and Volunteers, act as the primary point of contact for access-related queries, and liaise with key departments including Production, Event Control, Security and Site Office.
The role offers hands-on experience implementing the Attitude is Everything Charter of Best Practice. Our partner festivals are working towards Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum awards, and you will play a key role in helping them achieve and maintain these standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Event & Planning
Liaise with event organisers regarding access provisions, accreditation processes and site planning.
Review site maps, viewing platform layouts and accessible facilities.
Contribute to risk assessments and contingency planning for show stops or emergencies.
Support recruitment and briefing of Accessibility Assistants and Volunteers.
Show Days
Oversee access accreditation at the box office.
Manage viewing platforms and accessible facilities.
Ensure RADAR key processes are followed correctly.
Conduct site walkabouts to monitor accessibility across stages and welfare areas.
Liaise with Security, Production, Event Control and Medical teams when required.
Lead response during show stops or emergency situations in collaboration with Security.
Maintain strong communication via radio/mobile with your team at all times.
Support documentation and reporting, including photographing accessibility provisions where required.
Ensure platforms and accessible areas are cleared and reset at the end of each day.
Oversee pack-down procedures, including collection of padlocks and equipment.
Leadership
Brief, supervise and support Accessibility Assistants and Volunteers.
Ensure a calm, solutions-focused and welcoming presence for customers.
Manage on-site challenges with professionalism and sensitivity.
Provide post-event feedback and reporting to improve future delivery.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
Experienced in event operations or access delivery (festival experience desirable).
Confident leading teams in busy, live environments.
Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills.
Knowledgeable about accessibility best practice (or willing to deepen understanding).
Flexible, approachable and highly organised.
Passionate about inclusive events.
A driving licence is advantageous.
Ability to travel to festival sites is essential.
Contract Details
Rate: Day rate dependent on experience
Employment Type: Freelance / Self-Employed
Season: Mostly evenings and weekends, May–September (varies by show)
